Maven Accountants is a chartered accountants practice and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (‘ICAEW’). Maven is registered to carry out audit work in the UK and Ireland and are regulated for a range of investment and business activities by the ICAEW. We are subject to the Code of Ethics which can be found at the link in the footer of this page. We are also subject to the APB Ethical Standards code which can be found through instructions in the footer of this page.
Maven is a Xero Bronze Partner as we have gained a considerable experience in helping companies modernise their accounting services by adopting Xero not just for invoicing but for VAT and various other purposes.
Maven is an Intuit Quickbooks Certified Pro Advisor, meaning that we are fully equipped and support businesses who have adopted (or want to adopt) Quickbooks for their company.

Andrew Long
Business Owner
Andy trained with a Top 20 firm where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2008 before setting up Maven Accountants Ltd in 2015. Andy has extensive experience of under-taking Due Diligence on Companies for Acquisition purposes as well as advising clients on improvements in financial systems and controls. He can also undertake a Finance Director role for SME’s.
Jo Callaway
Accountant
Jo has been a Chartered Certified Accountant since 2008, leveraging over two decades of experience in the field. She began her career as an account assistant in 2000, gaining a deep understanding of accounting principals and practices. Jo is proficient in Sage, Xero, Iris & Excel.
Zoe MacAskill
Accountant
Zoe has worked in practice and several industry niches during her career in accounting spanning over 25 years. Qualifying as an Accountants Technician first, then a Chartered Accountant in 2004, she was granted fellowship status by the ICAEW in 2019. She has worked with Sage and Xero systems and enjoys statutory compliance and producing financial statements and delivering a great client experience.
Steve Nias
Tax Specialist
Steve is a highly experienced tax professional & former HMRC inspector of taxes, with knowledge and expertise to deal with all your taxation requirements, kept up-to-date by both internal and external technical seminars. Our tax team meets regularly to compare ideas and discuss topical issues arising.
John Boyle
Tax Adviser
John is a highly experienced tax professional who began his career with the Inland Revenue before moving into accountancy. With over 38 years of experience in personal and business tax, he now focuses on tax compliance, working closely with Andrew and the tax team at Maven Accountants Ltd to deliver efficient, cost-effective services to our clients.

Bookkeeper & Payroll
Karen joined us in 2022, having always owned and run her own business. She brings a wealth of experience and a strong understanding of company processes. She is XERO certified and has knowledge of QuickBooks and payroll, providing expert support to clients.

Sherrie Williams
Practice Manager
Sherrie is the Practice Manager, overseeing daily operations and providing support on company secretarial matters. She also continues as PA to the Director, offering reliable organisational and administrative assistance. Her dual role ensures both the practice and leadership have the support needed for smooth, effective operations.
